Should I reserve if I have not heard back from the host?
Once you’ve found the right listing, we recommend messaging the host a message to doublecheck if the service is available and if the service really fits your needs.
Message the host before reservation
Even if the service hosts offers instantly bookable or reservable products or services, it’s always a good idea to message the host before doing a reservation. This leaves room to answer questions, as well as let you know how exactly the service will look like.
To contact a host from the listing page, click “Message” and ask the host any questions you have. Most hosts respond within a few hours. Keep in mind that many of our hosts have a full time job or are very busy doing their local business.
The host isn’t responding
If a host hasn’t responded, consider reaching out to other hosts in the area. You can message as many hosts as you’d like, so it’s up to them to respond to you in a timely fashion or risk losing their chance at having you as a customer. Most hosts offer a phone number which can also be a great way to contact them.
Sending multiple requests
Unless you’re planning on consuming multiple services for the same dates, make sure you don’t submit more than one reservation request at a time, as you may end up having multiple reservations during the same time period. This means that you leave hosts with an incomplete reservation which can be harmful for their business and your reputation.
